Week 5 EOC: Social Networks and Job Hunting

On the first article " Brand Ambassadors" the main idea is to let us know what companies are doing now days to advertise their products. Companies such as Sony, Microsoft an MacDonald s, are starting to use average people that enjoy their products as brand ambassadors so they can give positive feed back about these products using word of mouth feed back and the social media so that millions of people can see that positive feed back and that way attract more business towards them, this is for sure a great strategy because theyr not using a famous actor or actress to advertise instead they are using a person from the real world. The "understanding consumer behavior" article mentions how cultural factors can affect our behavior at the moment of purchasing a product. In the case of Hispanic people they seem to be very brand oriented and they are actually a growing buying power which makes them a very attractive market, something similar happens with the Asians, they tend to be very brand oriented and they rely a lot on online transactions which also makes them a very attractive market. A perfect example of this market strategy is when we see a TV commercial that's being duplicated using the different ethnic groups, we see a African/American making a TV commercial for Bud light then we see a person from Hispanic origin doing the same Bud light commercial and the we see a white perosn doing the same TV commercial for Bud light, obviously they are trying to reach each ethnic group in a very direct way. The last article " Recruiters Troll Facebook for candidates they like" is just telling us how Facebook keeps evolving and now it could became a main platform of traffic for companies that don't want to use job boards to hire their employees and instead they are starting to use Facebook or other social platforms just because its cheaper and they might be able to get a better idea of each candidate.
