week 10 EOC Benefits Vs Features

Feature: a good source of nutrients  The set price for each package of corn nuts is really low. Eating corn nuts won't affect your health on anyway. Loco corn nuts are great for the drunk people at the bar trying to sober up. Loco corn nuts are naturally made. Another cool feature is the toothpick included and the drink gifts inside some packages.

Benefit:Peruvian corn is rich in protein and vitamins. For people that are not into the whole crab thing there's is the option of not pouring the crab flavor powder at the time of eating them, they can just used the sriracha. Loco corn nuts are rich in fat and salty which makes them a great bar snack. In partnership with the local bars many of the Loco corn nuts packages will have drink prizes inside them. Also i partnered with a local toothpick company to include a couple toothpicks on each serving of loco corn nuts.

My product has really good benefits and really cool features that hopefully will convince the customers that loco crab corn nuts is the right snack.

Implementation evaluation product

To make sure my product its going to do good when it hits the bars, i took a few samples and gave it to random people and to some friends so they could try it and give me some feedback. Also i went to a couple bars where i would like to launch my product and asked a couple customers to try my snack while they were having a drink or while they were entertaining at the bar.
To my surprise the feedback was very positive, only a very few people that don't eat crab didn't feel really good about my product but overall everyone loved the product and the whole idea behind it. Guys in general liked it alot i had no complains and girls loved it as well but there were a couple of them that were kind of picky and didn't really enjoyed the idea of handling the corn nuts with their own hands but once they took a couple bites they feel for it.

"demographic segmentation divides the market into segments based on variables such as age, gender, family size, family life cycle, income, occupation, education, religion, race, generation, and nationality. Demographic factors are the most popular bases for segmenting customer groups. One reason is that consumer needs, wants, and usage rates often vary closely with demographic variables."

The few friends that tried my snack loved it right away, they really liked the idea of the sriracha flavor and of course the crab flavor, they also said it will be really cool to collect some of the best packages just for fun.

Promotion

I want to promote my product mainly by word of mouth which i think is one of the best promotions a product can have, i don't want to promote on tv or on the radio because i want to see what kind of feedback i get from the usual people at the bars first before taking it to a bigger level.

"Not all brand differences are meaningful or worthwhile; not every difference makes a good differentiator. Each difference has the potential to create company costs as well as customer benefits. A difference is worth establishing to the extent that it satisfies the following criteria"

I want my customers to know the difference between my product and other types of corn nuts out there, i want them to know why loco crab corn nuts are the best and i want them to experience that as well.

"Attracting and retaining customers can be a difficult task. Customers often face a bewildering array of products and services from which to choose.

It is really hard to retain customers but at loco crab corn nuts we are working very hard to try to retain as much customers as we can by creating a whole new experience for when they are at the bars, i want them to look forward to going to the bar and finishing up with loco crab corn nuts.

Today’s companies are building deeper, more direct, and lasting relationships with more carefully selected customers.

Distribution

My product is going to hit the local bars first but not all the bars will have them. I Want to start with the bars that offer a cool experience for the customers besides the food, when the food is great but the service sucks or the place just looks dead all the time it makes the food bad as well.

"There are too many different kinds of consumers with too many different kinds of needs. And most companies are in a position to serve some segments better than others. Thus, each company must divide up the total market, choose the best segments, and design strategies for profitably serving chosen segments."

Since this is a snack that's going to reach older people i really want to make an impact in the industry. All the bars where people go watch their favorite sports or where they go play pool those are the places where i want my snack to be at.

Buyers in any market differ in their wants, resources, locations, buying attitudes, and buying practices. Through market segmentation, companies divide large, heterogeneous markets into smaller segments that can be reached more efficiently and effectively with products and services that match their unique needs.

Product

I didn't have a lot of time to work on a nice design for my product because im an audio student and i don't really know how to draw or how to use Photoshop but ill make sure to explain the ideas i have for the face of my product.
"A company with limited resources might decide to serve only one or a few special segments or “market niches.” Such “nichers” specialize in serving customer segments that major competitors overlook or ignore."

The package for my product will be entirely made of eco-friendly materials, its going to have a laughing crab on the front thats going to be pointing the back of the package so people feel the curiosity of turning it over and reading the cool stories and positive messages we intend to include. It is also going to have a tooth pick and a small bag of sriracha sauce to complete the outside. Some of the packages will have drink prices inside the that can only be use at the bar where the package was first open.

"Companies should manage customer equity carefully. They should view customers as assets that need to be managed and maximized. But not all customers, not even all loyal customers, are good investments. Surprisingly, some loyal customers can be unprofitable, and some disloyal customers can be profitable."

Loco crab corn nuts is going to sell each package for 5 dollars for about 7 Oz. A lot of people might not like the price at first but they will realize its worth every dollar.

"Guided by marketing strategy, the company designs an integrated marketing mix made up of factors under its control—product, price, place, and promotion (the four Ps). To find the best marketing strategy and mix, the company engages in marketing analysis, planning, implementation, and control."

Every Time a person opens a package of my product i want them to feel curious and attracted by the nice smell coming out of the bag. The unique and exotic flavor of my product is going to change the way people feel about corn nuts.

Target market strategy

"Broadly defined, marketing is a social and managerial process by which individuals and organizations obtain what they need and want through creating and exchanging value with others. In a narrower business context, marketing involves building profitable, value-laden exchange relationships with customers"

Our target market at loco brab corn nuts are all the men and women that love to have a snack at the bar while drinking, we want to make the bar experience a better experience by providing a great snack for the right price that will leave a smile on everyones face.

"Marketing is all about creating value for customers. So, as the first step in the marketing process, the company must fully understand consumers and the marketplace in which it operate"

Our main goal is to create a great experience and at the same time create value, we are not trying  just to sell a snack, we understand and we know that most of our possible customers are not rich or they're not big on spending money and thats why we have to make sure we are giving them value on each package of corn nuts. We want to take people on a different adventure every time because they deserve to be entertained.

"Outstanding marketing companies go to great lengths to learn about and understand their customers’ needs, wants, and demands. They conduct consumer research and analyze mountains of customer data. Their people at all levels—including top management—stay close to customers"

We understand our customers and thats why we have created a best snack. We wanted to bring a new experience out of the ordinary and hopefully in the future we can reach other markets.

Situation or SWOT analysis

Swot analysis

S. Thanks to my great networking skills i was able to made some connections with a few locals bar to have them trying out my snack to help introduce the product. I also found a great provider of Peruvian corn straight form Peru at a very low price. I made a great connection with a sriracha provider that's going to sell it to me for a very reasonable price as well. There is a toothpick company thats very interested on partnering up with loco corn nuts.

W. One of the main concerns i have is that loco corn nuts might get too big and out of my hands so im working really hard to keep the demand at a level that im able to control.

O. Loco corn nuts has a lot of opportunities for itself and for other people. There are companies that want to partner up with loco corn nuts so they can show their products along main. There is the opportunity of employment for the right candidate. For the product itself there is the opportunity of growing up and launching new flavors.

T. The loco corn nuts idea is very unusual in my community and theres is a big risk that other people wanna start their own corn nuts business but thankfully i have my recipes protected and brand as well.

Marketing Strategy

My product is intended to be marketed at the local bars of my community that share some of the same objectives regarding customer value, we want to make sure the bars are going to sell my snacks with pride and that they're also creating good relationships with the people that visit their joints frequently.

A company’s value chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Success depends on how well each department performs its work of adding customer value and on how well the activities of various departments are coordinated.

This is not just an ordinary snack, i would like to think that my loco crab corn nuts are unique and that its flavor its going to give the customer a different experience every time.

"Positioning is arranging for a product to occupy a clear, distinctive, and desirable place relative to competing products in the minds of target consumers"

everyone at the bar should know where loco crab corn nuts is coming from i would like for everyone to share the story of my journey to reach the great Phileas Fogg that way people would get more involved with the whole idea and hopefully that could help our sells.

"marketers must find ways to get all departments to “think consumer” and to develop a smoothly functioning value chain"

business mission statement

Phileas Fogg legacy has to be honored and my  mission is to spread the flavor of loco corn nuts brand by giving the customers of all the local bars a product thats not only going to calm the hungry customers at the bar but is also going to blow their minds with the intense and exquisite flavor that will develop once they try loco crab corn nuts. Customers love having a snack with their beers and favorite cocktails and many times they have no choice but to eat the old bar snack they keep behind the bar for days instead loco crab corn nuts wants to change that and provide an out of this world bar snack that its going to definitely change peoples mind.

"Today’s marketers want to become a part of your life and to enrich your experiences with their brands—to help you to live their brands"

The product will have an special design and also each package will have a different message. These messages are going to be positive and motivating messages to help everyone that tries loco crab corn nuts have a nice end of day after eating their snacks at the bar.

"At home, at school, where you work, and where you play, you see marketing in almost everything you do. Yet, there is much more to marketing than meets the consumer’s casual eye"

When the great Phileas fogg game the recipe for the loco crab corn nuts he was convinced that i was more than just a businessman, he knew i wanted to create value for the customers so they would keep eating my snacks.

Week 8 EOC Adventure

One day on a Sunday afternoon while having a drink at the usual bar i started craving crab but at the same time i wanted it to be crunchy, I wanted that crab flavor on some corn nuts so i asked the bar tender for something crunchy with crab flavor but of course he didn't have anything like that but he told me about an old friend named phileas fogg that knew how to make the best recipes in the world but he lived at a hidden island because he became so famous in the industry that at one point he got tired of the life style and decided to live on the low and he picked a place to live that not many people know about but luckily for me he did know how to get there and made me a map. I left to the island and on the way i run into all kinds of obstacles and hazards. Sharks, crocodiles, electric mega storms, i even run into giant evil sea horse that almost ate my legs, when i got to the island i had to cross mountains and entire valleys i felt like giving up at one point. After all that i made it to the island and got to meet the great phileas fogg master of the recipes who made me the best recipe for spicy crab corn nuts. After trying them for the first time i felt all the flavors i was looking for the crab and the spicy it was the perfect combination in my mouth...... hope to make it alive on my way back...

Week 7 EOC Pitch

Spicy crab corn nuts: Peruvian corn, crab flavor, sriracha flavor.

Crab meat is very popular around the world thanks to its great flavor, it seems like a great idea to try to bring that flavor into corn nuts and then add the flavor of the spicy sriracha for some reason nobody has came out with that idea. Corn nuts are one the most popular snacks and there are plenty of flavors but in my targeted market its not that popular so i want to create a new experience for all the people at the different local bars by putting together a great quality product and using tools as smart advertising and smart partnerships and at the same time spread a positive messages that can help and educate anyone that eats loco crab corn nuts.

Week 6 EOC Me times 3

I'm personally a big fan of the brand diesel and i really enjoy this man cologne which comes in a very nice and neat presentation. I discovered it a few years ago and for me is the best fragrance diesel has even though there are newer concepts with different fragrances that have come out after this one, i gotta say that more than one girl asked me what kind of perfume i wear so they could get it for their boy friends or just because they liked they way i smelled and they just wanted to know what kind of cologne i was actually wearing because this one really stands out from other brands keeping in mind that i have already tried quite a few colognes from other brands. It is also very accessible, the price is around 60 or 70 bucks and it just gets the job done for me because its exactly what i want from a cologne and i really encourage any guy to try it.

Sunglasses, specially on this style i can say they are my favorite because they give a nice look and they really match my faces shape. Also what i look for in sunglasses is big lenses that completely cover my eyes, they really give a mysterious look to who ever wears this kind of glasses. I like to wear them for all kinds of activities, driving, when I am at the pools, or when im walking in the sunshine. I feel like they really match my style.

When it comes to hats this is the only style of hats that i wear. I do not and i would not wear a baseball hat or any other kind of hat because it just don't feel comfortable wearing anything different. I like to be able to rock my hats any time i feel like doing so and this style mixes really good with any type of clothing, its just the kind of hat that goes good with anything i wear and i been wearing them for many years now.

Week 5 EOC: Social Networks and Job Hunting

On the first article " Brand Ambassadors" the main idea is to let us know what companies are doing now days to advertise their products. Companies such as Sony, Microsoft an MacDonald s, are starting to use average people that enjoy their products as brand ambassadors so they can give positive feed back about these products using word of mouth feed back and the social media so that millions of people can see that positive feed back and that way attract more business towards them, this is for sure a great strategy because theyr not using a famous actor or actress to advertise instead they are using a person from the real world. The "understanding consumer behavior" article mentions how cultural factors can affect our behavior at the moment of purchasing a product. In the case of Hispanic people they seem to be very brand oriented and they are actually a growing buying power which makes them a very attractive market, something similar happens with the Asians, they tend to be very brand oriented and they rely a lot on online transactions which also makes them a very attractive market. A perfect example of this market strategy is when we see a TV commercial that's being duplicated using the different ethnic groups, we see a African/American making a TV commercial for Bud light then we see a person from Hispanic origin doing the same Bud light commercial and the we see a white perosn doing the same TV commercial for Bud light, obviously they are trying to reach each ethnic group in a very direct way. The last article " Recruiters Troll Facebook for candidates they like" is just telling us how Facebook keeps evolving and now it could became a main platform of traffic for companies that don't want to use job boards to hire their employees and instead they are starting to use Facebook or other social platforms just because its cheaper and they might be able to get a better idea of each candidate.

Week 4 EOC Business to Business market

Difference between consumer marketing and business to business marketing
One of the main differences i see is that a lot of products that are offered to average consumers are not essential for their daily life, many of the products that average people buy they buy them for pleasure or enjoyment not because they really need them. On the other hand, business to business marketers want to buy and need to buy periodically because they need to stay profitable, up to date and successful. Business to business buyers like to be sophisticated and that's the kind of audience they want to approach, consumer buyers are always looking for information that's going to help them understand products better. Business buyers consult teams of experts when they want to buy because they want the best, while average consumers don't really need expert advice when they are buying their everyday products.

Week 3 EOC: My Demographics

Echo Boomers see technology as a way to socialize instead of face-to-face methods.
I gotta say i agree with these fact, thanks to the development of technology in the last 15 20 years we have noticed how people started changing the way they interact between each other. Social networks are probably the strongest influences on peoples everyday life, now days we keep up with friends and coworkers through facebook, instagram or twitter instead of having a conversation face to face we rather just check out their profiles to see what are they all about. I'm not sure if this is positive or negative for our society, i think being able to communicate with others via email or internet is awesome but is also making people forget about their intrapersonal skills, a lot of people can't hold a conversation face to face anymore some others can't even hold a conversation over the phone, so when the time comes and they have to get out there to approach people maybe because of work or school they find themselves on a weird position because they're so used to just text or email between each other that they don't even know how to start a conversation.  Taking advantage of technology is great and we should take it as far as we can but we can't forget we are humans not machines and having a conversation face to face shouldn't turn into a uncomfortable situation or a problem.
